Chapter Thirty

Rajiv's POV

I punched the wall in frustration as soon as she walked out.

She didn't even flinch when I called her father.

But who is this Akash guy?

I searched his name online, and a plethora of results popped up.

I entered the Wikipedia site, expecting to find accurate information.

And there he is, staring back at me: Akash Kapoor, 36 years old, owner of Cement Pro, a leading cement manufacturer with operations on so many continents.

And that isn't all. He also holds a 45% stake in his father's mining company, Aurum Mining Co., a global mining leader.

And as if that isn't enough, he has many other shares in various other businesses too.

I scrolled down, curiosity getting the better of me, to check his relationship status.

His last relationship was five years ago with a stunning celebrity who was also my childhood crush.

"Why is he so interested in Anita then?" I wondered, my mind racing with questions.

I delved deeper into his past relationships.

All of his exes were stunning women, breathtakingly beautiful and fair-skinned.

Compared to Anita, they far outshine her.

But then, a realization struck me.

If he, who had been with these incredibly gorgeous women, is now interested in Anita, there must be something truly special about her. Something that set her apart.

A spark of possessiveness ignited within me. "I won't let him have her," I mumbled, my voice firm with determination.

"Rajesh, pass me the butter!" I said.

We were having dinner.

It was evening.

I am yet to hear back from Anita's partners, so I think the deal is off.

But that doesn't bother me.

In fact, I am more determined than ever to get her back because if a man like Akash, with his business empire and charming persona wants her, then there must be something truly special about her.

I am convinced that she possesses a unique quality which I am determined to uncover.

My phone beeped, and when I glanced at it, I was thrilled to see the payment notification.

Not only had they paid the advance, but they had also covered all the other expenses in full.

I couldn't help but smile when I saw the amount——it was in crores!

I had never seen a deal like this before.

In fact, I doubt that our company had ever secured such a lucrative deal, even during my boss's tenure.

"What's behind that sudden smile?" Divya asked with curiosity etched on her face as she sat beside Mother at the dining table.

Mother also looked up from her plate, her eyes questioning me to answer.

"Nothing," I replied, downplaying the excitement.

"The company just secured a great deal. That's all."

Mother's face lit up with a warm smile. "May your success continue," she said, her voice filled with pride.

However, her expression soon turned cold when she asked, "And what about Anita? Did you meet her? When is she coming back?" she demanded, her voice carrying some anger.

"We met, but she's refusing to come back," I said, trying to sound calm.

"But, don't worry. I'll make sure she returns. I've already spoken to my father-in-law, and he's summoned her home."

Her expression darkened with anger. "How arrogant she is! What joy is there in living in this world without a husband?" She retorted, her voice rising.

Just then, the security guard at our gate entered and interrupted, "Sir, someone is here to see you."

I nodded, curious. "Who is it?"

"Mr. Akash Kapoor," he replied.

My eyes widened in surprise and wonder at how he managed to find my address and what could have made him want to visit, especially since we have no relationship.

"Excuse me!" I said to my family, got up from the table, and headed out to meet him.

He was pacing in the garden, busy on a phone call, but after our eyes met, he abruptly ended the conversation.

I tried to greet him, "Good even.." but he cut me off, his expression stern.

"I'm here for Anita," he said, his voice firm and commanding.

"I don't usually resort to threats because I go directly into business, but I've learned a thing or two from her kindness. Consider this your first and final warning." He pointed a finger at me, his eyes blazing with intensity.

"If she sheds even a single tear because of you again, I swear on everything in this world that I will not rest until I destroy you and your entire family."

My gaze moved from his pointed finger to his serious face, and I forced a smile. "So I was right. You're in love with her."

His expression darkened, and he snarled, "My pers...our personal lives are none of your business. As far as I know, you two are divorced. Threatening her with her father will only put you in danger. Ask anyone; crossing me is a grave mistake because I don't rest until I defeat that person."

His voice was aggressive, and he turned to leave but spun back around, adding, "One last thing. I wanted her to terminate your contract, but she refused, saying she doesn't mind working with you because she knows there's nothing left between you two. So, if you ever mention her father's name in front of her again, my wrath will descend upon you, and it's the last thing you'll ever wish for. Remember, she's not alone now. I'm with her."

He turned and stormed away, leaving me with a smirk and a dismissive chuckle.

"She's my wife. Her family has already given her to me, and our traditions are stronger than any person. Even she knows she can't break them." I smiled.

••••

I settled into my bed, looking at the empty space beside me.

A smirk spread across my face as I thought about her.

"It's about time you take your place here," I said aloud, my voice filled with confidence.

"We may not have slept together yet, but I'm ready to embrace every part of you now. I know you have a special quality, or someone like Akash wouldn't be so invested in you." I reached out and touched the empty pillow, my smile growing wider as I imagined her beside me.

I leaned in, my lips brushing against the pillow, and whispered, "Soon, my love, soon."

I kissed the pillow, imagining the softness of her skin and the sweet scent of her hair.

My smile grew wider when I pictured her lying beside me, her eyes sparkling with love and adoration.

I wish I could bring you here right now.

••••

It is morning.

I arrived at the restaurant.

They had selected their preferred designs, so I was scheduled to meet with their interior designer to finalize the details.

Stepping inside, my eyes scanned the room, searching for one person in particular.

And then I spotted her—Anita—standing on the balcony, her eyes closed with a serene smile on her face as she breathed in the sweet morning air.

Her tranquil pose was captivating, and I wasn't upset she wasn't in a saree today because the dress she wore made her look sexy.

My mind wandered with joy, wondering when we'd finally be together.

I wondered what it would be like to be closer to her, to feel her warm breath on my skin, to taste the sweetness of her lips.

My thoughts raced with images of us entwined, our bodies moving in perfect harmony, and our hearts pounding as one.

I couldn't shake the feeling of needing to be with her, to possess her completely, and to make her mine.

I will stop at nothing to make her mine now.

As I began walking towards the balcony to join her, two burly men suddenly appeared from nowhere, blocking my path.

"That's the limit between you two," one of them growled.

I eyed them warily, my instincts on high alert. "Who are you?" I asked.

"Her bodyguards," they replied in unison, their expression unyielding.

I chuckled wryly, knowing that only one person would go to such great lengths to keep us apart—Akash.

And that only strengthens my desire to have her for myself.
